Vitara. Amanti. Murano. Sorento. Versa. Aveo. I liked it better when cars were named after animals rather than prescription drugs.Clayton Hove

Dutch street symbols and design
Damrak, Amsterdam

A candy store at an old bank building /
A games hall at an old art deco building

A forgotten trash can in the middle of the busiest street in The Netherlands / Leave your (home) trash here.

Iconic: Amsterdam and bicycle symbols

A more beautiful but unreadable word in the first example as it lacks the small white squares saying: trash.

The not so new bicycle taxi

This film symbol is completely outdated. Young people have to learn 'reading' the meaning.

I drove by a church sign that read, "JESUS WANTS TO BE YOUR FRIEND" and couldn't help but finish the thought with, "on Facebook."

Jozef Israels vs Isaac Israels

The Hague painters father and son Jozef (1824-1911) and Isaac (1865-1934) Israels have an special exhibition at the Gemeente Museum. Open until 8 February 2009.
They show a clear link between the early and dark 19th century painting into the lighter early 20th century.
I live on the Jozef Israels Lane so I watched this exhibition with extra attention.

Most favorite.
I was just talking to my dad about the 70s, and apparently not everybody was kung-fu fighting.

Look alike. These models look so much alike but if you add the same make up and styling this is what you get:

Ambitious title for the exhibition. Many of my favorite works from the museum are present but there were also a few disappointing surprises.
From the musum site:
"For the first time in its history, the Gemeentemuseum presents a vast display of modern and contemporary art filling two whole floors of its main building. The new exhibition, entitled XXth Century, uses both major historical events like the Wall Street Crash and the Russian revolution and lesser ones like the arrival of the steam railway on Walcheren to suggest the background against which untiring artistic experimentation constantly transformed the face of Western art."
