The discoverers of Twitterland

Sir Edmud Hillary wanted to climb the Everest, Christophorus Columbus wanted to reach the Indies.
There are new border reaching, new conquerors in Twitter, they want to reach the end of the line by either having as many favorites, as many updates, asking to as many as possible What are they doing? or as Osen following as many as possible. There aren't that many more frontiers to reach at Twitter.
Tyoro and/of Waydbot and Osen are the cowboys, the discoverers of Twitterland!

Life imitating art

This photo about the attack in Jerusalem reminded me of Babette van Wagenvoort drawings. Rhythmical beauty.

Collages, as new

I remember the sunny day I was describing on the phone to my friend Raul Marroquin the collages I was putting together. The older works date as far as 2001 but they are as new as those from 2008 because no one except me had seen them until this week. For me they are as fresh as then. After 7 years they come out from the box they were placed. I am actually finishing 3 of them with a continuous enthusiasm.
I already received a kind comment from Roberto Arancibia on them. Probably the first person who saw them.
Here some examples of collages and small objects.

‘I always prefer to work in the studio. It isolates people from their environment. They become in a sense... symbolic of themselves. I often feel that people come to me to be photographed as they would go to a doctor or a fortune teller - to find out how they are.’
Richard Avedon

Green is not only green

I remember when I had my new camera Pentax K1000, I was about 13 or 14 years old, and I went taking photos in Chapultepec park. At the end I only took one photo, and I knew that it wouldn't be a good photo, it was just not to come back empty handed. I only could see green. I could not had been able to make one of this beautiful and detailed compositions like the painters Beatriz Padilla (1) and Lucien Freud(2). Their interpretation of the nature is so different but there is something very similar in the composition. You can see them both now in The Hague, Padilla at Artana gallery and Freud at the Gemeente Museum.

Twitter experiment?

Two days ago I found a twitter, called Osen (with no site reference so probably he has other avatars) following and amazing number of twitters: 3000+/_. Today is 18000! Of course he is followed by more than 2000 twitters.
The thing is he had had only 18 entries or updates. He is experimenting with 'us' twitters.

The fair of fairs.

Yesterday we went to Tefaf art fair in Maastricht.

Jenny Reynaerts, curator 19th and 20th century Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam lead us to her own choice of special works, among them De Kooning, Picasso. With us was illustrator Cristina Garcia and Joost (?).

Francis Picabia, super kitsch.

I didn't see a single Mexican or Latin American artist (not even pre-hispanic pieces). This Paul Klee (a) reminded me of the animals by Francisco Toledo (b).

Left, antiques potpourri, center a beautiful staring face. Right there were Alexej von Jawlensky's in the dozens!

First time I see a landscape of one of my big favorites Alex Katz.

A huge Neo Rauch, if I had the money!

One of my husbands favorite: La Chapelle.

Loads of Egon Schiele's every where at the fair. Also one of my old time favorites. How can it be so many works of his for sale, from an artist that died at age 28!

Blindness for the every day corner.

Anne Wenzel and Marianne Dellekamp help us see the esthetical and poetic beauty of the every day things in our lives. They rediscover them for us.
