Enter the world of violence and drug trafficking through art, is the proposal by the Mexican artist Marisa Polin. This woman, in an exhibition entitled "(Not) Guilty", presents 40 paintings and drawings, including 13 dedicated to report the crude reality, giving shape to fiction and truth on the increased violence in our country. Concerned about what is happening in Mexico and although she has been living in Holland for some time, Marisa Polin includes issues such as drug messages (narcomensajes) and the organized crime. The exhibition takes place in WAD, a cultural center of the city of Delft.

It is not just about selling art. Art has always had multiple goals, and here visitors can see how the press deals with these sensitive issues, and crimes that the Mexican authorities stage as if it were theater.

Through his paintings, Marisa Polin tries that the society finds the root of these crimes and truly can be able to distinguish whether the defendants are guilty or not. This art says something more.

Some people have dared to criticize the exhibition on the ground that these matters should not be treated outside of Mexico, as if making a judgments on the value of the art content, pretending to censor it, could improve the image of our country abroad. On the contrary, these events awakes the public interest to solve the serious problems facing our nation: organized crime and impunity.
