observing the street workers renovating the area round my studio in Rotterdam, I was thinking that their work looks like embroidery with stones. I love the result and their craftsmanschip.

Your are not the only one looking down to the pavement. Here (Mexico City) if you don't take permanent attention as you walk down the streets you can get into an accident or at least into trouble.
Expect street photos.
